'Your Story, Our Purpose'

Please join us for an afternoon of entertainment for a much needed cause #afghansincrisis.  This year we are raising funds to support Afghans in Crisis.  Much has changed over the past two years. I no longer have to introduce my homeland-Afghanistan. It’s no longer as unfamiliar!  On August 25th, 2021, the world witnessed an occurrence that seemed out of a movie. Recall the group of young boys, some belonging to Afghanistan’s national soccer team clinging on the a military cargo plane’s wings? There was more criticism than sympathy. We’ll never know what went through their minds as the plane took off. We’ll never know. But, I can only imagine the fear of a  sudden death insignificant in comparison to animality they would face under Taliban.

We watched these occurrences in disbelief, confused,  scared and somehow relieved it wasn’t us. We already have too much of our own stress, anxiety, loss, pain and uncertainly,  don’t we? We wanted to help but how? There was too much chaos in the media that distracted us from what we knew was becoming a living night mare. Soon, the media quietly disappeared and the voices  of young infants, panicked parents clinging to their loved ones echoed.   As an Afghan and more importantly as a mother I wondered why and how could this be in this modern world. Desperately trying to  control the tears running down my face as I quietly went on with my day.

The short-lived hashtags that once sent messages on #saveafghans disappeared,  replaced by #photooftheday #outfitoftheday and everything seemed normal. That’s what we try to do, to normalize, we have to for our own mental state and our childrens’.

But, I cannot ignore those humans who gather up the courage to be on the same path  on the grounds risking their lives to do what they choose to do over and over again.  These people are men, women,  mothers  and fathers  who die to make sure that the families left behind live and are saved from famish. Hard to believe that people are dying from freezing temperatures and inaccessibility to  food.  Panah Charity Foundation (501C) and Untold Stories Foundation (501C) are committed to providing to 592 families and counting.

A donation of just $100 provides food for a month for an average family of 4. Families receive flour, oil, sugar, lentil, and tea for a month and peace of mind forever realizing their children wont be starving. Some parents in desperation have given up their children in an attempt to despair the possibility of their loved ones starving and dying in their very own arms.

While we understand that not everyone can help we hope to reach those able  and  willing to help. So please mark your calendars and hear first hand the true untold stories of afghan refugees who are in our city and among us.

'Your Story, Our Purpose'

US is the platform for unheard voices and untold stories of people who need to be heard and that need our help.Events like these where “compassion, passion and fashion can create such opportunities and transcend difficulties is a powerful pathway to finding fulfillment. It’s a feeling of self worth, and a physical and emotional sense of reward. Thank you for your interest in this project.

Untold Stories (US) is a newly founded non-profit organization that focuses on the needs of people regardless of age, gender or ethnicity. It’s about a closely knit community that responds to individuals, groups or a situation in immediate need.

We at US hope to enlighten our communities at large, both locally and across the world.

We all have a story and while  some stories make us laugh, and  some make us cry;  there are a few that leave us stunned in disbelief. Stories tell us about our past, our journey of where we came from and how we have evolved as individuals.

US invites individuals who have Untold Stories. US creates the opportunity for these people to be heard, and we hope that their stories not only enlighten us but encourages us to strive for a stronger community and a better tomorrow.
